Die chinesische Mauer
German, Charles Kraus, 1999Product details
A murder has occurred, and humanity wishes to call for help. It cannot. Thus begins the brilliant essay by Karl Kraus, which was published in July 1909 in "Die Fackel" and illustrated in 1914 by Oskar Kokoschka, who was friends with the circle of "Fackel" contributors and portrayed many of them. Kraus' attack on the hypocritical sexual morality of his time is presented here for the first time again with Kokoschka's illustrations. This edition is released to commemorate the 125th birthday of Karl Kraus and the 100th anniversary of the founding of "Die Fackel.".
