Once upon a time, there was an honest, well-mannered young black cat. That Kitty is anything but honest and well-mannered is, of course, evident in a tale by Beatrix Potter. However, the fact that she plays such devious tricks on her owner, a kind old lady, was unexpected. Instead of behaving and sleeping in the garden shed, Kitty roams the woods dressed in a tailcoat, fur boots, and armed with a shotgun, encountering all sorts of nasty characters like two uncouth ferrets and - to Kitty's great dismay - eventually the wicked fox Mr. Todd. Fortunately, she has her friends who help Kitty out of the biggest mess. An unpublished story by Beatrix Potter - for the first time in German with illustrations by the British master Sir Quentin Blake.
