Product details
A young Swiss woman from St. Gallen wrote to Rilke in early January 1920, expressing her deep emotions during his reading at the local Museum Society in November 1919. Rilke replied to her, stating that he would occasionally use the address "Anita," as a teacher might, especially since he himself had a daughter who was only half a year younger than her. Rilke's words of gratitude instilled great confidence in Anita Forrer, and throughout her life, Rilke remained the teacher who helped her gain some mastery in the geometry of the heart, the distances, and relationships in the vast space of emotions. Rilke's letters, as Anita Forrer says, opened a spiritual space for her that became fundamentally significant for her life. After Rilke's reading in St. Gallen, they met.
