'The Aesthetic Weasel', 'The Great Lalula', 'The Gingganz', 'Professor Palmström', 'Aunt Kunkel' - Christian Morgenstern (1871 - 1914) became famous primarily for his humorous poetry. However, this is only a part of Morgenstern's extensive oeuvre: In lyrical verses, he described the sea and the Nordic landscape, and later, due to necessary spa and recovery stays, the Swiss and Tyrolean mountains and Italy; encounters of love found their expression in sonnets, ritornellos, and songs. This volume follows the annotated Stuttgart edition, in which Morgenstern's poems were edited according to the final version or for the first time from the handwritten estate.
