Amrum is in shock: A tourist has been murdered on the island. Shortly thereafter, the wife of island police officer Nils Petersen discovers a portrait of the victim in a Hamburg gallery - apparently painted by the perpetrator. The painting contains hidden clues about the date of death and the location of the body. A feverish hunt for the murderer begins. Then another portrait surfaces.
