Career orientation has been gaining importance for years, especially regarding its qualitative development, in both school and extracurricular educational fields. In the context of efforts for a systematic and effective regional transition management, the relevance of career and study orientation is steadily increasing. Numerous offerings exist to promote a successful transition from school to post-school educational pathways, yet scientific findings on their effects and sustainability are still largely inaccessible. Until now, there has been a lack of an interdisciplinary and systematic collection of insights into support measures at the school-to-work transition. Authors from research and practice outline the current state of scientific knowledge, describe and comment on measures and tools for career orientation, and clarify this.
