Product details

Even intensive offenders begin to stop committing crimes by the latest in their late adolescence. This is the key finding of the follow-up study of the rapid criminal proceedings in Münster for juvenile multiple and intensive offenders, which observed the further development of officially recorded crime among 32 of the 34 subjects involved in the initial study into the early years of adulthood. In-depth interviews with four intensive offenders suggest that a change in structural life circumstances, particularly in the form of new partner relationships and professional commitments, seems to be primarily responsible for such a process of desisting from delinquency.
