The model of interactionist nursing didactics presents a theory of action for nursing education that is both empirically and theoretically grounded for the learning environment of schools. This model has been successfully used for several years in practice-oriented curriculum development, particularly in nursing schools. This book provides a detailed presentation of the model, including its concepts, the nursing didactic heuristic, the concept of professional key issues, and the concept for developing education-enabling learning islands. Additionally, the empirical as well as educational and nursing theoretical foundations of the model are discussed. The normative and simultaneously critical standard of the model lies in ensuring conditions for mutual recognition of the actors in both teaching and nursing.
