Despite current tendencies towards national closure, it can be observed that the everyday lives of young people and their families remain intertwined across borders. This means that child and youth welfare, when considered from the realities of its target groups, is embedded in inter- and transnational contexts. The anthology aims to reflect on the various connections between mobility, migration, and internationality in the context of child and youth welfare, in order to examine them both in terms of their international relations and with regard to their current contexts and fields of action, and to further develop them from a post-mobile perspective.

Senka Kari, Dr. phil., holds the chair of Education and Training in Migration Society at the University of Osnabrück. Her areas of focus include: social work and religions, internationalization and transnationality in child and youth welfare, post-migrant perspectives, and qualitative social research. Agnetha Bartels, Dr. phil., has been a research associate at the Institute for Social and Organizational Education at the University of Hildesheim since 2017. Her areas of focus include: internationalization and transnationalization in child and youth welfare, youth work and rural areas, as well as volunteer research and qualitative social research.
