This book fills a gap in German-speaking Qumran research by providing a compact introduction to all the manuscripts found in Qumran: the genuine Qumran texts, the apocryphal and pseudepigraphical material, and, in a brief overview, the biblical manuscripts. For each work, the relevant editions and translations are listed alongside pertinent and current literature. An overview of the manuscript situation, as well as usually an outline of the respective work, precedes the introductions. Tables and summaries make it easier to present the content in a memorable form. A thematic and theological overview, along with a brief presentation of the state of research, concludes the sections. Short passages or parallels are frequently quoted verbatim to illustrate the issues.
