Despite a significant pastoral effort and a flood of theological literature, the Christian faith seems to be gradually fading in our society. Why is this the case, and how can individuals counteract this development? Hermit Gabriel Bunge reflects on Evagrius Ponticus and the Desert Fathers, pointing out, along with them, a ritual that is increasingly rarely practiced: personal prayer! He agrees with the early ascetics: only the practice of personal prayer can strengthen faith in the right and appropriate way. In this volume, alongside the essence and gestures of prayer, recommendations for suitable places and times are also described.
