Islam is the second largest religious community in the Federal Republic of Germany, following Christianity. However, compared to other immigration countries, the recognition of the need to permanently integrate Muslims has occurred later in Germany. This reveals the extent to which interest-driven discourses obscure social reality. Against this backdrop, the present book attempts to provide a scientifically objective perspective on the Muslim lived reality and the interactions of Muslims with the German host society. Specifically, it inquires about the knowledge regarding the Muslim population in Germany and the key issues that shape their relationship with the majority society. Thus, the anthology seeks to centralize the German discourse on Islam from recent years.
