Selma Polat-Menke provides a thorough analysis of the representation of Islam in Frischmuth's novels in the present study. Such an interpretation offers opportunities beyond mere epistemic interest: Frischmuth's work, as particularly illustrated in the concluding chapter of this book, encourages a deeper engagement with Islam and can thus serve as a starting point for interreligious learning.
