Product details
Wildmaster Willi Neuhauser was a professional hunter for 40 years in the Tyrolean hunting area "Erzherzog-Johann-Klause." He experienced and endured the post-war turmoil in this region, just as he did the so-called "modern" times of the 1990s. The first main residence of the professional hunter and his family was a service hut in the farthest corner of the Tyrolean Brandenberg Valley. The meat for winter was buried in the ground for preservation. Over the decades, the hunting area became increasingly accessible through forest roads. While some things became easier, many unpleasant aspects also made their way into the valley. At least the peace and romance were mostly lost in the process.
Throughout his life as a professional hunter, Wildmaster Neuhauser experienced nearly everything that can happen to a hunter: life-threatening situations due to the mountain's challenges, as well as poachers, feeding trends from which he returned to simplicity, outbreaks of diseases like rabies or chamois blindness, both pleasant and unpleasant experiences with hunting guests, and much more. There is also much to learn from the long-standing experiences of the professional hunter with the red deer management community "Karwendel," if one knows how to read between the lines. A common thread runs through the entire eventful life of the professional hunter: the love for wildlife and hunting and the joy of service in the hunting area. The book is illustrated exclusively with original photos from the Brandenberg area. Not only do the photos from five decades make this exclusively designed work a historical document.
