However, due to equally strong tendencies towards "total and fundamental commercialization," this has also been relativized in recent decades. For example, modern sports cannot be accurately described, as is often claimed, as a "child of industrial society" or the industrial revolution of the 19th century. While these examples refer to favorable trends in sports development, there are also opposing effects of an individual nature.
