This script aims to provide readers with the opportunity to acquire foundational knowledge about industrial property rights and copyright, or to refresh their existing knowledge. The target audience includes both law students and students of business and engineering disciplines. Furthermore, this book is directed at candidates for patent attorney exams as well as lawyers preparing for their examinations to become specialists in industrial property law. Industrial property rights is a collective term for various rights that may be significant for a business operator. The term is also mentioned in Article 73 No. 9 of the Basic Law in connection with the exclusive legislative competence of the federal government, but it is not defined. It includes patent law, utility model law, and semiconductor protection law.
