Baroque literature in the mirror of cultural studies. The author discusses the most important works of Gryphius, Lohenstein, Bidermann, and Weise, focuses on central individual texts of the era, and also presents lesser-known text types such as musical drama or historical special forms, as well as the courtly-historical novel. For the third edition, passages on Grimmelshausen research, historiography, and autobiography, as well as the topic of literature and knowledge, have been added.
