Product details
In psychoanalytic theory, we unreservedly assume that the course of mental processes is automatically regulated by the pleasure principle. This means we believe that it is stimulated each time by an unpleasant tension and then takes a direction such that its end result coincides with a reduction of this tension, thus avoiding displeasure or generating pleasure. When we consider the mental processes we study in light of this course, we introduce the economic perspective into our work. We believe that a representation which attempts to appreciate this economic aspect alongside the topographical and dynamic moments is the most complete one we can currently envision and deserves to be highlighted by the name of a metapsychological work. This work by Sigmund Freud is unpublished.
