In 1963, a recruitment agreement was established between Germany and Morocco. What began as the temporary employment of Moroccan guest workers has long evolved into a multifaceted immigration history. Early miners were soon followed by women and children, and later by highly qualified educational migrants. In the second and third generations, some individuals experienced successful upward mobility. These processes contributed to the fact that the group of Moroccan migrants and their descendants today is as heterogeneous as the migration society as a whole. This volume focuses on the migration and integration of this previously overlooked group. The interdisciplinary assessment arises from a collaboration between the German-Moroccan Competence Network (DMK) and the Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Studies (IMIS) at the University of Osnabrück.
