Testbuch der Eröffnungsfallen
German, Gerd Stappner, Robert Ullrich, 2017Product details
The author has compiled 120 instructive tasks in this test book, which are presented to the reader in diagram form with two to three answer options following the multiple-choice method. A detailed discussion of all positions follows. In the examples, the author has selected many positions from tournament and competitive games in addition to theoretical variations. Although the term "opening trap" used here draws on the common terminology from chess literature, it is not understood in the strict sense in this book. Rather, it is extended to numerous opening strategic and combinatorial cases where pitfalls should be avoided, but where one cannot necessarily speak of a direct trap in the conventional sense. An introductory chapter on handling and evaluating the tests is included.
