The new circumstances brought about by Corona and war have changed the world. Everywhere, personnel and workforce numbers have decreased. In kindergartens, schools, hospitals, and the professional and economic sectors—there is a shortage of workers everywhere. Due to these new circumstances, people have also changed. They have particularly been affected by loneliness, which surrounds them more and more. This leads to confusion and discomfort, to an unexpected sense of helplessness. It is a significant challenge for all of us to confront this. This little book aims to offer suggestions on how to counteract loneliness. It primarily focuses on places where this feeling suddenly becomes more pronounced. In one’s own room, in one’s own home, one suddenly finds oneself alone. What can be done about it? Senior homes provide great assistance. However, loneliness also surrounds the residents there. It becomes even worse in hospitals. Even within a circle of friends at the regulars' table, ideas run out. What can be done against this ever-growing loneliness? This is something Pastor (retired) Franz Pitzal has reflected on.
