Product details
The Journal for Cultural and Collective Studies is a forum that aims to develop a collective science based on cultural studies. This new discipline focuses on the collective as a bearer of culture, serving both practical cultural research and providing novel insights into the nature of the social. The broad concept of the collective replaces traditional notions of groups and societies, making previously hidden layers of human communal existence accessible. The anniversary issue 10/1 is dedicated to the theme "Rethinking Collectives - New Collectives," exploring forms of modern collectivity, applied to both classical and new collectives. Contributors from various disciplines address the phenomenon from philosophical, network, practical, and system-theoretical perspectives. They explore human categories, serial collectivity, artistic and digital collectives, climate activism, as well as small groups and school classes. By utilizing non-European concepts of collectivity, they work on new perspectives while also reflecting on the linguistic structure of collectivity through the "system of personal pronouns.".
