The focus of interest in the story of Judith in art and literature has mostly been on the killing of the general Holofernes in his own tent by the beautiful widow Judith, even up to the present day. In contrast, this commentary unfolds the theological profile of the fictional narrative and explains how it references the Bible in its Greek version, thereby interpreting its own present theologically.
