This work is the final report of a research project on the alternative accommodation of young people aged 14 to 17 before their main hearing at the night-closed St. Severin House of the Piusheim/Glonn youth village. The study documents and analyzes the measure, examines the personnel implementation conditions and the acceptance among Bavarian justice and youth welfare institutions, describes the clientele and the accommodation process, as well as the criminal development of the young people, among other things through a comparison with detainees. The book provides an empirically grounded contribution to the current discussion on the institutional accommodation of severely delinquent young people.
