Annerl and Peter are crafting a child, Bimbulli, for their father-mother-child game from a piece of fabric. While playing hide and seek in the barn, Bimbulli soon becomes independent: Mother Hen takes him to the chicken nest, where he watches over her youngest chick, Prince Chick. When the two go on an outing to find food for Prince Chick, they end up in the pond with their boat. They take shelter from the rain under an old straw hat, which is already serving as a roof for a frog. More and more animals seek refuge under the hat and climb into the small boat. Although it gets cramped, it is quite cozy until the rain stops, and the next morning everyone arrives home safe and sound. (With crafting instructions).
