The old, the young, and the little Stanislaus embark on an adventurous journey in a paper boat. They pass by an old castle, then a dangerous watermill, and travel all the way to a large river where steamers and cargo ships float. In the end, they reach a peaceful little town and fish a kitten out of the water that doesn't eat mice. Satisfied, the three return home with their cat.
