The old, the young, and the little Stanislaus live with their grandmother, mother, and Veronika in the garden. The house is empty because the painters are coming. However, they are taking their time. In the meantime, the three Stanisläuses paint a buffalo, a donkey, and a swarm of bees. Finally, the painters do show up, and the three Stanisläuses go on an outing so they won't be in the way. The buffalo, the donkey, and the swarm of bees accompany them and create some excitement.
