'Community' is one of the shimmering terms of modernity. The clash between a seemingly warm community and a society perceived as cold symbolically represents the birth of sociological thought at the end of the 19th century. This term almost ideally reflects the discomfort with modernity. In the semantic memory of everyday life, community appears as the key to a sociality that has been displaced, erased, prevented, or banished in the process of modernization. However, these positive connotations have increasingly faded over the course of history. At the latest, following the horrifying experiences of the twentieth century, at the center of which the disastrous idea of the people's community circulated, the term has definitively lost its former innocence. This contamination of the idea of community persists to this day.
