How can people learn better? The authors present a theoretical foundation for learning coaching for the first time, with a view towards practical application. Knowledge and learning are becoming increasingly significant in light of rapidly changing lifestyles and work environments. For over 20 years, regional training courses and system consultations have been offered with the aim of professional continuing education. Coaching, supervision, project management, and educational organizational consulting are at the forefront of this effort. The authors now provide a theoretical basis for learning coaching for the first time, focusing on the question of how students learn. How can they be advised and supported in this process? Results from neurophysiology and other explanatory approaches to learning are examined for their practical utility.
