Texts and images form symbiotic relationships in the media and in schools that should be addressed more in the classroom than has been the case so far. The practical volume describes what happens when reading images and what takes place in the reader's mind when reading texts. It illustrates how texts and images communicate, showcasing their specific communicative functions, as well as the reading of texts and images as unique cognitive and emotional challenges.
