How motivation and willingness to perform can be increased in heterogeneous classes With the trend toward merging Hauptschulen and Realschulen and the implementation of inclusion, the heterogeneity in German classrooms is increasing. At the same time, the subject of German has always been characterized by very different requirements that encounter very heterogeneous learning conditions. In hardly any other subject is it as difficult as here to determine a uniform learning level of a child or adolescent that is valid for the entire breadth of the subject. This practical volume first develops a concept of how German can be taught in (strongly) heterogeneous learning groups in an individualized, differentiated and inclusive manner in order to do justice to all learners. For this purpose, different characteristics of heterogeneity are taken into consideration and the specific challenges are pointed out.
