Children encounter technology and its effects in their daily lives. However, they rarely have the opportunity to understand it. When designing, building, and constructing is connected to their own interests, children can gain a productive and insightful approach to technology. Working with wood and its processing allows for the development and promotion of key competencies as outlined in the curricula. The book contains a curriculum for elementary schools that meets the requirements of the educational standards and has been tested and further developed over the years in collaboration with the ProWood Foundation in the teachwood project. It offers a variety of ideas and practical suggestions for teachers in elementary schools on topics such as using tools, creating simple objects, inventing technical solutions, and evaluating.
