The support of each learner in heterogeneous learning groups requires individualization and differentiation. Recent changes in the school system have brought this fact back into focus, raising the question of how digital media can contribute to individualization and differentiation in teaching. This volume first explores the significance of media in foreign language teaching in a foundational chapter. It describes the diverse opportunities that digital media offer for teaching and specifically addresses the promotion of media literacy among students. In the second part of the volume, the goals of individualized teaching are defined, and methods for diagnostics and individualization procedures in classroom practice are presented. The areas of media and individualization/differentiation are discussed.
