A plea for more music in elementary schools. Music offers children an almost unlimited space for (self-)experience, action, and experimentation. The level of musical engagement also reflects their motor and psychological development. The author demonstrates how children experience music and sound, acquire musical skills, and express themselves through it. Practical tips, lesson examples, and exercise materials support elementary school teachers in making music an integral part of their cross-curricular teaching.
