New Approaches in Music Education. Additionally, the often lamented low results in the past have led to constant questioning of didactic concepts. So, what makes for good music education? An increasing number of music teachers have succeeded in evolving their lessons in such a way that students can relate to them. This teaching thrives on the shared joy of musical practice, which includes singing, dancing, and making music, as well as active listening and engaging with the unfamiliar or the unusual. Composing and improvising have now become as integral to the curriculum as interpreting and visualizing.
