In 1947, the war still weighs heavily on the people of Berlin. When a young woman searching for edible ground elder discovers a corpse in the ruins of the orangery in Schönhausen Palace Park, Hans Adler is shaken: must the dying continue for these young people, who have known nothing but death? The brutally committed act presents the commissioner with a puzzle: who was the deceased? Did she know her murderer, or was she chosen at random?
