The 4th edition of the Canaanite and Aramaic Inscriptions (KAI) has long been out of print. However, the collection of texts is still used as a reference work in all relevant handbooks. Since the last revision of the KAI in 1966/69, important new texts have been discovered and published, and already known texts have been further improved in reading and interpretation. Therefore, a new edition of Volume 1 has been prepared, expanded by about 40 texts. A revised version of Volume 3, including a brief bibliography for all texts in Volume 1, is expected to follow as soon as possible. A new edition of Volume 2 is not currently planned.
