This book examines the specific characteristics of the everyday culture of Germans and French people, using the example of the magazine program "Karambolage," which premiered on ARTE in 2004. It serves as a contribution to intercultural media analysis and communication. The discourse fragments and strands identified here regarding the mutual German-French perception, particularly after the reunification of Germany, create a rather sharp and homogeneous image of each neighbor. The foreign images that emerge sometimes align with well-known stereotypes, but they also open up new and complementary perspectives of Germans on the French and vice versa.
