KARIBU is a syllable reader that engages every student and welcomes them to participate. KARIBU employs an integrative approach and links literacy acquisition with a clear focus on syllables. The reader is based on the proven concept of Carola Reuter-Liehr, the syllable approach of the Kiel reading program, and the FRESCH method. The preliminary course KARIBU facilitates the entry into literacy acquisition through exercises on language rhythm, phonological awareness, and graphomotor skills. The progression of word construction moves from simple to complex. KARIBU supports the systematic development of word structure through consistent syllable segmentation, meaning from open to closed syllables, as well as the transition from simple, acoustically well-structured word forms to more challenging words. Syllables resonate, and syllable arcs are established through the action-oriented concept.
