A new barbarism is permeating our society, as knowledge and culture are for the first time falling apart. Since the Galilean project, the natural sciences have aimed to be the sole objective knowledge, excluding sensual qualities of nature and the associated subjectivity, which means our very lives. Because culture, especially the enhancement of life through art, religion, and ethics, finds itself excluded from modernity. This fundamental denial of life, which allows for a deeper understanding of Husserl's rehabilitation of the lifeworld, culminates in the technological process that leaves the individual, in their inescapable life pathos, with only the mediated existence of the audiovisual as a refuge for their exchange of needs.
