The book "The Unique and Its Property," published in 1844, presents the individual like no other work before or after it, consistently and with unparalleled radicalism placing the individual at the center of its considerations. After the destruction of the abstractions of humanity and mankind, the egoist remains as the self-empowered owner of themselves, the only one left. Thus, in place of Hegel's eternal being stands Stirner's unique, ephemeral, incomparable, and unrepeatable self. This self, which has freed itself from all external impositions, also separates from previous notions of property and their justifications, grounding property in the ability to appropriate, in other words: in the empowerment of myself; this own, almost Promethean self-empowerment is the prerequisite for recognizing property for what it is: as "unlimited property," so unrestricted and boundless.
