In analytical philosophy, there is occasionally a desire for the renewal of metaphysics. However, the problem character of metaphysics, first seen by Kant, is often given too little attention. The book "World and Infinity" specifically addresses the problem of metaphysics by exploring whether the phenomenological tradition, with its focus on lived experience, might be better suited to provide guidance in this area. Husserl's idea of a phenomenological metaphysics has not yet been examined in relation to this question. A non-traditional aspect of this metaphysics is that it does not seek the first reasons and causes of beings as beings. Instead, it relies from the outset on certain fundamental facts. However, the fundamental facts that Husserl identifies differ from ordinary facts.
