This dissertation attempts to portray the historical subjectivity of the writer Karoline von Günderrode (1780-1806) in both literary and biographical terms. By analyzing both her entire literary work and her extensive correspondence from a production-aesthetic perspective, the specifics of Günderrode's subjectivity become clear in the merging of biographical and literary dimensions. Since the study addresses Günderrode's complete literary oeuvre and biography, the significance of writing for Günderrode, as well as the historical developments in Günderode research and reception, this work fills a research gap that has previously existed in this field for the first time.
