According to the Institute for Employment Research, around 436,000 people took on a so-called one-euro job in 2011. Since their introduction in 2005, these employment opportunities with additional compensation have become the most quantitatively significant measure of active labor market policy under SGB II. With the reform of labor market policy instruments, which came into effect on April 1, 2012, through the law to improve integration opportunities in the labor market, the focus is primarily on individuals close to the labor market. The effectiveness of such labor market policy instruments has been extensively researched, primarily concerning the integration effects of the measures into the labor market. However, the perspective of those participating in such employment opportunities has largely been overlooked.
