In the context of the discourse surrounding the quantity of childcare places for children, the priority of the quality of early childhood education is emphasized. The question is explored whether religious education work with children under three years old is possible. Literature from the field of religious education, literature on daycare, and models of faith development are taken into account. Using a specifically examined Protestant institution, the legal framework and the guidelines of the provider regarding religious education work are analyzed. A teacher, a pastor, and a childhood educator are interviewed based on focused interviews, which are supplemented by the aspect of narration. These interviews are presented and compared. All interviews are approached with the perspective of child theology and beyond each interview.
