Cats have seven lives. Tomcat Nepomuk has fourteen, at least. For centuries, he has roamed the streets of Weimar, through houses, castles, and theaters. He was always present when something exciting happened. Today, he takes great pleasure in strolling through past times in his thoughts. Sometimes, when he passes one of the bronze statues, he wishes that the figure up there would come down from its pedestal and reminisce with him about the old days. Nepomuk personally knew everyone: Lucas Cranach and the beautiful Sibylle, the impetuous Johann Sebastian Bach, the fairy tale collector Musäus, Anna Amalia, Wieland, Goethe, Herder, Schiller, the Falk family and their five hundred children, Maria Pawlowna, Franz Liszt with his incredibly nimble fingers. And countless others. How many lives will Nepomuk still need to remember all those who, in their own way, have shaped the city of Weimar?.
