Manfred Oehmichen (born 1939) became known as a scientist and director of the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the universities of Lübeck and Kiel. However, even before studying medicine, he had a strong interest in visual art, drawing and painting almost daily. During his studies and throughout his career, he kept up with current art movements by visiting exhibitions both domestically and abroad. Especially during his professional work at the Art Center in Cologne in the 1980s, he expanded his activities and intensified his painting. It is only today that Manfred Oehmichen has the opportunity to fully dedicate himself to art. He developed his own form of printmaking in the style of monotypes, resulting in distinctive images. His monotypes are characterized by vibrant colors, a special vitality, and radiance that convey an inner emotion.
