Product details
In 1956, journalist and photographer Milli Bau set out to explore the countries of the Silk Road in a VW bus. In some places, she stayed longer, while she only passed through others. Later, she lived for seven years as a correspondent in Tehran. Her Rolleiflex and her diary accompanied her on her extraordinary journey through countries that are now often difficult to visit. Her photographs capture nearly 20 years of cultural and historical events. This publication serves as a contemporary historical document of a traveling journalist who left Germany in the 1950s and found herself in the world. Milli Bau is an exceptional example of a woman's life that should not be forgotten.
