That was close. While climbing around in the old monastery ruins, Lukas nearly fell. He could have broken his neck. Apparently, Death sees it similarly, as he is already sitting next to Lukas: robe, hood, skull, the full program. Although there’s nothing for him to gain here, Death decides to check in on Lukas from time to time - after all, a young person believing in the Grim Reaper is a rarity. When some time later Lukas’ fatherly friend Johann drowns in the village pond, it is Death who expertly assures the boy that this was no accident. With a lot of cleverness and a little bit of magic, the two set off to investigate. What is Death up to these days, now that hardly anyone believes in him? Reliving his glorious past and fading into obscurity? No. He teams up with a clever boy and establishes the most unusual detective agency of this world.
