Around 1968, Lukas and Harry are touring the German countryside as a two-man band, covering songs by The Beatles, The Kinks, and Donovan, thinking that things couldn't get any better. Until one night, Lukas hears Leonard Cohen's "Suzanne" on the radio but can't remember either the title or the artist. The flirtatious Gitte and the experienced Julia will help him in his quest for that one life-changing record. Ten years later, Lukas sets off for nowhere, carrying only Cohen's poems. He ends up on a Greek island and meets the mysterious Danish woman Meret. But in the end, neither Gitte, Julia, nor Meret remain; in the end, Leonard Cohen remains. Forever.
